GCI Gets New Prefects For 2019/2020 Academic Session
The students of Government College Ibadan have gotten their leaders that would steer the students' leadership for the next academic session.
The prefects were elected by the entire senior secondary school students, after the prospective prefects were selected by the school management on the basis of academic, leadership and sporting prowess.

Krishat Pharma Limited, a client of Olubi (Grier, 1976) has graciously donated cricket equipment worth millions of Naira to his Alma mater.
Olubi Adejobi (1976) and some members of the donor company visited the school on Friday, the 3rd of May, 2019 to present the cricket items to the school management.
It would be recalled that the Old Boy and former Cricketer is the donor of the Cricket Oval, whose construction is ongoing at the school ground.

The duo of Peace Oduwaye and Abdulbasit Suadad of Government College Ibadan defeated their counterparts - Favour Onabajo and Okikijesu Adebayo of Bethel Comprehensive College in a keenly contested final match with 3 goals to one. The two weeks' workshop on Mental Arithmetic and Mathematics Improvement Training organised by the National Mathematical Centre, Abuja for Nigerian Basic School Students and Teachers (Junior School Level) has come to an end.

Government College Ibadan, Oyo State and defending champion defeated Ado Ekiti Grammar School, Ekiti State to win the U-16 South-West Hockey Foundation Tournament on Saturday 24th November, 2018 at the MainBowl of the Lekan Salami Satdium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
