Government College Ibadan, Oyo State and defending champion defeated Ado Ekiti Grammar School, Ekiti State to win the U-16 South-West Hockey Foundation Tournament on Saturday 24th November, 2018 at the MainBowl of the Lekan Salami Satdium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
The Ado Ekiti Grammar School boys opened the lead in the second quarter of the game after a goalless draw in the first quarter,first time in three years the defending champions,GCI, will be held that tight.

Government College Ibadan continued its winning streak as the prestigious school won the Justice, Development and Peace Commission (JDPC) Child's Rights Oriented Oratory Debate Contest organised for Senior Secondary Schools across the Pacesetter State.
The event was held at the Bashorun GRA office of the Commission on the 5th of June, 2018. GCI took the first position and won a Twenty-five Thousand Naira book voucher for its Library. Airport International School came second.

The grand finale of the Under-15 Inter-School Athletics Competition for the public secondary schools in Oyo State came up on Friday, 1st of June, 2018 at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
The Government College Ibadan Relay Race Team, headed by Aremu Faruq of SSS 2A, won the 4 x 100 Relay Race Competition while the Team Captain, Aremu Faruq emerged as the fastest sprinter of the competition.
