GCIOBA Appoints New Principal, Presents Him with an SUV

image The Government College Ibadan Old Boys Association (GCIOBA) has announced the appointment of Mr. Olugbemi Oresegun as the new Principal of Government College Ibadan (GCI). He officially resumed duty on Monday, 5th January 2026.

Mr. Oresegun is a seasoned education professional with over twenty-six years of teaching experience and more than a decade in leadership roles at reputable institutions. He holds a B.Sc. in Economics Education, an M.Sc. in Industrial and Labour Relations, and is certified by the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), in addition to several international professional certifications.

Before his appointment at GCI, he served in leadership capacities at Atlantic Hall International School, Epe, Halifield School, Lagos, and Mastercare International School, Asaba. His professional strengths span academic leadership, student development, dormitory management, and sportsmanship, with a strong focus on equipping students with 21st-century skills.
In a show of support and commitment to effective school leadership, GCIOBA presented the new Principal with an official SUV. The gesture underscores the association’s resolve to provide the necessary tools for efficient administration and improved service delivery.

The presentation also reflects GCIOBA’s endorsement of the school concession partnership policy, which encourages alumni participation in the management and development of public secondary schools. The association reaffirmed its commitment to promoting academic excellence, discipline, and good character at Government College Ibadan.
