BUILT ON THE ROCK
My name is Olabopo Bamidele Remilekun Williams hence otherwise known as OBR, Willie or OBRat. I must have been one of the smallest in our set competing with the likes of Adegbola and Abodunde. Although small in stature, we were never small in abilities or we would not havebeen in GCI. I was in Grier House with my best friend then, the late Badmus (Baddy). He is fondly remembered as we do Kila, Amos, Kufo, Aloba and few others. They shall all be remembered for good.
GCI, our school, was literally built on the rock but more importantly, the foundation it gave us all was anchored as in on a rock, steadfast and strong. This has kept many of us going through the turbulent seas of the world. Many of us have made some successes in our various fields and more importantly we are still “together” as when we first met at GCI, 50 years ago. Friendship started at GCI has continued to this day. All praise, honour and glory to our Heavenly Father Jehovah through His Son and our King Christ Jesus forever and ever.
