1997 SET PRESENTS 1000 NOTEBOOKS TO GCI

The 1997 Class Set of Government College Ibadan on Thursday, March 4, 2021 donated 1000 pieces of notebooks to the school as part of their yearly class project.

The Chairman of the Set, Tolulope Ogundiji (Carr) revealed that the class has joined in the race of restoring the lost glory of GCI and that it will continue to do all in its power to support the course embarked upon by the Government College Ibadan Old Boys Association (GCIOBA) under the able leadership of the indefatigable Dr. Bolanle Olawale Babalakin (SAN).

The Principal of the School, Mr. Oluwole Adewale appreciated the Set for their kind gesture towards the school. He emphasized that it is a great privilege for the students of to witness and enjoy the benignity as their counterparts in other schools may not have such opportunity. He encouraged the boys to imbibe good maintenance culture so that everything given by the Old Boys would be properly cared for.

The presentation which took place during the school�s assembly time had staff and students of the school in attendance as well as the Class Secretary, Felix Akinrotimi (Field) and some members of the Set.

Recall that 1978 and 1994 Sets had earlier gifted the School 2000 and 3000 notebooks respectively, the 97 Set makes it the third set to donate books to the school making it a total of 6000 notebooks donated to GCI by Old Boys.
