LIKEMINDS OF 1991-JANUARY SET OF GCIOBA, AGAIN KITS UP GCI STUDENTS

As part of its tradition, the Likeminds of 1991-January Set of Government College Ibadan Old Boys Association donated complete kits of school apparel to GCI boys.

The ten (10) beneficiaries of the project were indigent students who were carefully selected across the three schools based on their dire need for a total overhaul of their school apparels. Each apparel included a brand new GCI 2 shirts, 2 shorts,a brown belt, a school bag, as well as 12 pieces of exercise books.

While presenting the kits to the 10 beneficiaries in the morning of Friday, 6th November, 2020 at the Administrative block, albeit in the absence of Ayotunde Ismael, Oluwatishe David, Sikadi Ayomide and Akande Abdulrazaq - the four (4) beneficiaries from Senior Secondary School whom were yet to arrive as at the time of presentation _(due to their afternoon shift as a result of Covid-19 guidelines)_;
Matthews Akindele (1991-January Set) charged the students to take good care of the items and also endeavour to give back to their Alma Mater in other realms as soon as they become Old Boys and are able to do so. He also delivered the goodwill message of Sunkanmi Olajide (1991-January), one of the co-facilitators of the project; who was unavoidably absent at the presentation.

Odebiyi Ayomide of JSS II, School II; on behalf of the beneficiaries and the entire students appreciated the donors for their kind gesture, particular for meeting them promptly at their point of need.

It would be recalled that the Likeminds, comprising members from 1991- January Set, kickstarted the Operation Kit-Up GCI Boys project as a monthly project in February, 2017 before it spiralled into a quarterly project in 2019. The Likeminds has earlier done same earlier in the year making this presentation the 25th edition. The purpose of the project is to ensure that all GCI boys are comely and distinct in their appearance, boosting their confidence amidst their peers, in and outside the classrooms and also amongst their counterparts from other schools.
