Past District Governor of Rotary International, District 9125, Nigeria; Past Chairman, Nigeria Bar Association, Ibadan Branch; and current Vice - President of Government College Ibadan Old Boys Association (GCIOBA).
Obafunso Ogunkeye was born in Ibadan to the family of late Hon. Mr. Justice Samuel Adetunji Ogunkeye, OFR, CON and Mrs. Caroline Gbadero Ogunkeye.
He had his primary education at St. Luke's Demonstration School, Ibadan from 1962 to 1967 and proceeded to Government College, Ibadan from 1968 to 1974. He was at the University of Ife now Obafemi Awolowo University from 1975 - 1979 where he read for his Bachelor of Law (LL.B.) Degree and thereafter proceeded to Nigerian Law School, Lagos where he qualified as Barrister at Law (B.L).
While at Port-Harcourt for his National Youth Service, he worked at the Legal Aid Council and also in the firm of Chief Kola Babalola, SAN. He returned to Ibadan to join the firm of Fawole, Babalakin & Co. until 1983 when he established his own law practice firm of Ogunkeye & Ogunkeye.
He was invited as a guest to the Rotary Club of Ibadan meeting in 1983 by PDG Emiola Adesina. He kept up his fairly regular attendance at the club for about 2 years until he was finally admitted as a member in February, 1985. PDG Obafunso Ogunkeye had served and still serving Rotary with all he has, which includes but not limited to time, resources, ideas, money, connection etc.
Another plus for Obafunso Ogunkeye is his complete obedience to the service above self principle which made him readily available to serve many social, philanthropic, educational, religious and service organization in various capacities, which include:
-Past Head Commissioner (Legal Duties) at Scout Association of Nigeria.
-2nd Vice President, GCIOBA.
-Past Chairman, NBA Ibadan Branch.
-Chairman, Ibadan Recreation Club.
-President, Scout Association of Nigeria.
-Past District Governor of RI District 9125, Nigeria.
