O.A. OMOLOYE

PRINCIPAL (1997 - 1999)

Mr. O.A. Omoloye was the first Principal of GCI to retire while sitting on the Principal's chair. Some members of staff referred to him, out of respect and due reverence, as 'Baba Omoloye'.

He worked diligently in raising the standard of discipline in the College. He was reported to have worked in consonance with the wishes of the GCIOBA, little wonder then that the GCIOBA held him in high esteem throughout hid tenure.

Baba Omoloye would come to the Assembly Hall well-decked in long-sleeved shirt sewn with the GCI school uniform fabric (and the College tie appropriately knotted) neatly tucked in his pair of trousers. Though he was fairly old at that time, he maintained discipline.
