Exclusive Interview with the Young Girls and Old Boys of GCI at 2017 GCIOBANA ENDO in Las Vegas.

Joy Adedeji of New African Broadcasting Network Television was at Orleans Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas, NV, United States of America between August 31st to September 3rd, to cover the 2017 End of the Year Party, ENDO, of Government College Ibadan Old Boys Association, North America Branch, GCIOBANA.

The Presenter interviewed the Young Girls of Majedokunmi (1969), Adenuga (1973) and Sokan (1975). The exhilarating and delectable Young Girls who reeled off their husbands' School Number, School House and Class Set were full of life and couldn't hide their ecstasy at the event as they exuded charming smiles. They appreciated the resoluteness, unflinching commitments and deep-seated passion their husbands and other Old Boys of Government College Ibadan have shown in the restoration of the fallen academic excellence, legacy and pride of Government College Ibadan.

In the Interview,

The Immediate Past Chairman of GCIOBANA, Folarin Olubowale (1972) frowned at the current dismal abysmal state of education in his beloved Alma Mater and pledged the readiness of GCIOBANA to continually support the GCIOBA National Association to bring back the good old days of GCI.

Taiwo Demuren (Demuren IV) (1973) who admitted that GCI was his family school reminisced about the 3-day Interview which ushered in the best brains from all walks of life into Government College Ibadan, an experience that helped transformed the Boys of then to great men of today.

Adenuga (1973 Sept.) said GCI was home away from home for him and thanked his Tior - Leye Thompson (1971) for the cordial and quality Mentor-Mentee relationship availed to him. He termed the decision of his father, Adenuga (1936) to choose for him GCI over King's College, Lagos as one of the best decisions ever made for him.

Olumide (1971) expressed his displeasure about the fact that an elite School like GCI that molded him is no more an elite School.

Adeoye Roluga (1963) pleaded with the various Governments to make GCI a Model School as it was before, so as to serve as a benchmark for academic and sporting excellence, and in turn give aspirations to other schools to do well. He explained the meaning and etymology of the word 'Tior'.

The Chairman of GCI Education Foundation Management Board, Yomi Jones (1963) who recalled the confidence and assurance of a brighter future the premier school implanted in them called for supports from all Old Boys and other stakeholders, to ensure the success of the Education Foundation Management Board.

Oluseye Arowolo (1985) described GCI as an Iconic School in Nigeria that gives a full package. He mentioned it that the School Song of GCI is the most inspiring School Song for him, and no lyrics of other schools' songs has ever come close to that of GCI in terms of its profoundness and ingenuity.
