C.E. SQUIRE

PRINCIPAL (1929 - 1932)

Rev. Captain C.E. Squire was formerly a Principal at CMS College - a Teachers' Training College, Kottayam, India between 1924 and 1926. He was a graduate of Cambridge University and had a Masters' Degree.

He was a distinguished soldier who had served in the First World War.

While at GCI, he taught English and Scripture, he was a keen Footballer, who encouraged and assisted Messrs Benton-Evans, Powell and Smithies in laying the foundation of football, athletics and cricket in the new school (GCI).

He later served as the Vicar of a Parish in Southborough near Tonbridge, in Southern England in 1948.
