Bolanle was born on the 19th of February, 1956 to the family of the late Venerable and Mrs. Adebayo Ayodele of Ikere in Ekiti State.

He gained admission into Government College Ibadan (Grier House) in January 1967 and finished in June, 1973 after “A Levels”. While in School, he was House Prefect in 1972, Deputy Head of House, third term 1972 and Head of House in 1973. He was a member of the School Cricket team in 1973.

In September 1973, he gained admission into the Faculty of Engineering, University of Lagos where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1977.

After the mandatory National Youth Service, with Central Water Transportation Company, Warri (in the then Bendel State) and a stint with the then Nigerian Steel Development Authority, he joined the Services of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) on the 5th of October 1978. During his Career in NNPC, he held several positions of increasing responsibility. These included:

Maintenance Engineer – Warri Refining & Petrochemicals Company (Oct. ’78 – May ’85)
Project Engineer – New 150,000 BPSD Port Harcourt Refinery Project (May ’85 – Mar. ’89)
Maintenance Planning Superintendent – Port Harcourt Refining Company (Mar. ’89 – June ’90)
O/C Maintenance Planning – Port Harcourt Refining Company (June ’90 – Aug. ’96)
Deputy Manager, Materials Traffic – Port Harcourt Refining Company (Aug. ’96 – Mar. 2001)
Maintenance Manager – Kaduna Refining & Petrochemicals Company (Mar. 2001 – Feb. 2005)
Manager, TAM & Projects – NNPC Corporate Headquarters (Feb. 2005 – Sep. 2007)
General Manager/Technical Assistant (Downstream) to the Group Managing Director, NNPC (Sep. 2007 – April 2009)
Managing Director – Kaduna Refining & Petrochemicals Company (April 2009 – Oct. 2013)

He also attended several Courses/Seminars/Conferences within and outside Nigeria.

Following a successful career that spanned the period of 35 years, he retired, statutorily, as the Managing Director/CEO of Kaduna Refining & Petrochemicals Company on the 4th of October, 2013.

Bolanle is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and the Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers (NIMechE).

He is a recipient of many Awards/Commendations, including those from: the Nigerian Society of Engineers (Port Harcourt and Kaduna Branches respectively), the Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers (Kaduna Chapter and National Body respectively) as well as the GCIOBA Abuja Branch Distinguished Old Boy Award (2008), GCIOBA National Merit Award (2013) and the Diocese of Kaduna (Anglican Communion).

Bolanle, who enjoys walking, watching Soccer and Cricket is happily married to Remha and the marriage is blessed with one daughter, Oluwaseun.
