1968 Set Donates Solar Powered Sick Bay and Health & Wellness Hub To GCI

The Class of 1968/1972/1974 of Government College Ibadan Old Boys Association has donated a Sick Bay and Health & Wellness Hub to Government College Ibadan.

The solar powered Sick Bay and Health & Wellness Hub was commissioned on Saturday, 20th of October, 2018 during the 89th Anniversary and 2018 Annual Reunion of Government College Ibadan Old Boys Association. The donation was to mark the Golden Jubilee anniversary celebrations of the Set and the continuation of their age-long partnership with their Alma Mater.

The old Field/Grier House HSC Block was renovated and converted to a first class edifice - Sick Bay and Health & Wellness Hub consisting of state-of-the-art facilities and experienced professionals as staff. The Sick Bay is expected to serve as the clinic for both the boarding and day students and staff of the school, while the Health and Wellness Hub is expected to be a one-stop shop for information and resources on strategies to build and sustain the health and well being of the whole school community, and aims to assist students, educators, parents and specialist professionals to achieve set goals.

The Class of 1968/1972/1974 comprises boys who gained admission to Government College Ibadan in 1968 and 1972 for their O'levels and A'levels secondary school education respectively, and as described by the Class Chairman, Oluwole Odunayo in his Welcome Address, is a reservoir of the virtues of selflessness, hard work, focus, leadership and philanthropy, which are all found in the members, and have shaped them in all spheres of human endeavour - Academics, Business, Law, Medicine, Banking, Architecture, and Sports.
